Shot Bias of Hybrid vs. Utility Iron
Hybrids tend to have a slight 'left bias' (encouraging straighter or slightly left shots for right-handers), while utility irons (UIs) tend to have a slight 'right bias' (encouraging straighter or slightly right shots).
為什麼這樣做
Hybrids are often designed with a slightly more upright lie angle and/or internal weighting that promotes face closure at impact, leading to a pull/draw bias. UIs, designed more like traditional irons, maintain a more neutral or slight fade bias, allowing skilled players to 'leak' shots right if needed.
怎麼做
- 1Hit a series of shots with a hybrid and observe the dispersion and general direction.
- 2Hit a series of shots with a utility iron and observe the dispersion and general direction.
Trackman data shows: Hybrid has a 'straight to left' shot pattern. Utility Iron has a 'left and definitely more to the right' shot pattern with slightly wider dispersion. The hybrid's more upright lie angle (relative to effective loft) contributes to this.
